Quick Results

ForrestCRN here again. I am not at the meet, but RTJ is and he's sent me some quick results:

800- official times
Stone: 1:51.64
Hunter- 1:56.28
Magee- 1:56.75
Boyle - 1:57.74
Moy - 2:02.98
Wiseman - DNF
Not sure if Wiseman didn't race or is injured. but a really big day for Stone. Magee had a solid race and I bet he splits 1:55 at nationals. Moy had an off day, but I expect him to bounce back big time for NBoN.

1 Mile Elite: Brehm goes 4:09 to win the mile. I wanted to call him running sub 4:10 and I didn't. I've been saying how much of a stud this guy is, but man 4:09 in the mile as a sophomore is unreal. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next XC season.

Speaking of great sophomores, second place in the race is Sam Ritz in 4:11! This class is fantastic and I'll be making a post about them fairly soon. Kevin James was 4:15.
Between 4:12 and 4:14 was: Coyle, Ben Ritz, and Russell

3000m Mixed
Szuhaj - 8:51.10
Snider - 8:53.06
Pretty good times for both of these guys. Szuhaj is another SO stud. Snider ran 4:20 in the 16 outdoors so a fairly comparable time. I can't recall if he'll be returning or not for Kiski.

That's all for now folks!

  1. Stone basically soloed the last lap of his 800. No one was near him and he kept on pushing for a great time. Congrats to him!

The rabbit went out extremely fast and kind of let Coyle and Russell do the pace making. Brehm took the lead at about 600 (somewhere around there) and didn't give it up. Last lap I thought he was going to die and at 300 he kicked it into another gear. This kid is going to be incredible. The Ritz brothers both had great kicks! Sam going at 300 and pushing for the win and Ben with about 150 to go, catching everyone, but Brehm and his brother. Kevin James had a good race, staying up with the leaders the whole time and hanging on tough, kicking it in with Coyle. Russell held his own in this race not letting the kickers get the best of him. All in all, it was a great race.

O'Hara's 4x1600 is looking really scary right now. I thought Henderson had it easily, but with these results I'm now thinking the other way. 4:15, 4:22, and 4:25 for James, Belfatto, and Pitone. Savage didn't run, but I assume he is in #2 shape like he has been on season.

For Henderson, Russell and Stratman look good, but Moy and Barchet are iffy. It could have been as simple as a bad race, I'm not sure I didn't see those two run. I'm hoping it was just a bad race and for nationals they will be in the kind of shape they have been in all season.

I didn't see Caldwell's race, but 4:20 is a huge PR for him. 7 seconds after conversions I believe. Etrain is a huge Caldwell fan and he definitely broke out this year.

PA alumni's Nick Crits, Owen Dawson, and Luke Lefebure were in the 800 running 1:51, 1:50, and 1:49 respectively.

  2. Wiseman went down around the 200 meter mark and took Moy out with him. At least Moy got up & finished the race-he probably lost 7 or 8 seconds easily.

  3. Moy fell hard, might have broken something.

  4. I guess you could say if someone gets wiped out on the track, that qualifies for off and "iffy". Dude don't say stuff until you know the facts-it's called responsible journalism...or blogging...or whatever.

    1. Responsible blogging? You're really showing it... Don't attack Forrest for speculating you ignorant washed up runner.

    2. Woah woah woah! We will not have personally attacks on these blogs. I appreciate you defending me, but please keep it civil guys. We're all runners here, which makes us family :)

    3. Forrest, good to see you back blogging. You seem pretty connected in the running world-maybe in the future you can get updates from people at the meets before reporting. Hearing a runner had a bad race and then hearing he was actually tripped & down on the track is kind of a big difference. And I don't think the kid would get up & finish that much of the race if he was anything more than shook up. Hope he's ok.

    4. It was just some quick results guys....he's doing his best based on what's in front of him...cut him a break...

  5. Sorry, I openly stated I wasn't sure what happened with Wiseman. I just made a few comments as to speculation. Next time I won't speculate.

  6. Moy looked real bad in that race today, It'll be hard for him to bounce back for Nats

    1. Are you saying that like after he fell? Or just the time? I wasn't there, if he fell then I wouldn't be too worried unless it caused him injury. In which case he probably shouldn't have finished the race. Hope everything is ok with him though!

And again, sorry about the mistake on Wiseman. I'll be sure to be more careful with my posts in the future

    2. Moy spent at least 5-7 seconds on the ground. He got up & finished the race but appeared physically fine. I saw him walk off the track looking angry and shook up but otherwise, ok. Wiseman, on the other hand-I never even saw him get up. Was there a 3rd guy he took out too?

    3. Moy was the only one that Wiseman took down. He went down in the middle of the pack so a lot of people had to jump him. Wiseman was holding his back but got up soon and just looked mad about the race but, from my view, didn't appear injured.

    4. From what I saw Wiseman got tripped up by his own feet and since Moy was the closest one to him, he went down with him. Glad to hear they both avoided injury. Sometimes it's just not your day.

  7. Rumor says Moy was going for 1:47 but was tripped in process making it impossible

    1. Others were able to hop over Wiseman but just as Moy was going to, Wiseman rolled over on his back and extended his legs in the air. He's lucky he got up from that.

    1. Not sure what this blogger is going to do, but I'll be putting one up a few days after I come back from Spain :)

I think we should wait until after Nationals though since there should be some exciting PA news.

    2. I too wanna talk xc. I wanna see the top 50 (individual) and top 10 (team) xc rankings. But it's probably best to wait until NBON are done and Forrest and RTJ are ready to contribute as well

  10. Wow, Brehm 4:09.27 mile. I mean, wow. I'm glad Forrest didn't call him running sub 4:10 because I'd have replied something to the effect of 'you're crazy' and then looked pretty stupid. What's that convert to, a 4:07.7 or so 1600?

Even with the benefit of a rabbit and top competition, I not sure that's even this kids limit right now. Is he running nationals? -RJJL

  11. I think they were attacking me about saying Moy was looking iffy. I did also say that I didn't see his race and hoped it was just a bad race. I think getting tripped up counts as a bad race. If Moy spent as much time on the ground as people say, he was going to run pretty fast. 5-7 seconds on the ground plus the momentum loss and still runs a 2:02? That's actually pretty impressive. Looks like Henderson is 3/4 of the way there, they just need a big race from Barchet. Luckily he seems to show up on the national scene.

That's unfortunate for Wiseman, but he still has the Caribbean meet so I think he will be okay. He is also a rising senior so he will have a whole year to make this race go away.

    1. Glad Wiseman & Moy are ok-they both have their best racing ahead of them. Looking to hear good things from Wiseman in the Caribbean-he's gotta be out of bad luck at this point.

  13. Moy did not fall at all, right from the gun he was in last and made that 2:02 look not to easy. I guess he might just be burnt out! He can probably split 2:01 at nationals, because last night did not make me believe otherwise.

    1. To PADONTPLAY blogger-great idea, glad to see you run a blog in the similar format as Etrain. But a cautionary bit of advice seems appropriate; when posts like the one above show up, your credibility is at risk. It's the unfortunate side of blogging-policing the site to keep the trolls from taking over and ruining your vision and ruining the visitors experience. Thanks and best of luck.

  14. I disagree entirely. The best part of these blogs is the expression of all of the different opinions in the comments. It's interesting to see what everyone has to say, even if they're just trolling.
