TFCA of GP Meet #3 – Division I
Dylan Eddinger wins the 800 with an SQG (post coming soon on
this post) of 1:59.78. He’s started off his season fairly well and going sub two at
the start of January is always a good sign. Rock Fortna runs close to a PR with
a 2:02.66. I’m interested to see how CB West’s XC squad translates to the
track. Theoretically they should be able to put together a nice DMR and Fortna
would be a key piece for them. After a strong 9:09 3k just 3 days ago McMenamin
runs 2:04.21 in the open 800. For a sophomore that’s not a bad start to
building up his speed.
Not much happened in the Mile, but shout out to James
Abrahams from Haverford winning in 4:42.70, and he’s just a sophomore. Liam
Conway is the real story here as he drops 3 seconds off his mile time from
Burdette with a 4:44.00. He’s starting to look pretty scary, which is awesome.
In a tight 3k Sean Princavalle of LaSalle takes the win in
9:29, but Jeff Kirshenbaum was DQ’d and is a guy who would have probably been
in the mid 9:20 range, so if anyone knows what happened there, please let me
know. Also shout out to William Tennent freshmen Sean Rahill for running 9:39.
That’s about a 10:20 and it’s only the beginning of January.
The 4x8 was pretty fun for early in the season and splits
for anyone would be great! Bensalem takes the win in 8:18 over St. Joes Prep
who ran 8:19.57 to get the SQG as well (8:22.06). CR South took 3rd
in 8:23 to beat out Abington, CB East, and CR North who all ran 8:24/8:25. I
know Sean Griswold of North fell during the hand off, but all of these teams
have some big things to offer in terms of relays. I think we could see a big
race from CB East in the DMR if Brophy goes for a relay squad again. North also
has some potential with Arita anchoring and a recent 2:03 split from Ben Heintz.
St. Joes Prep looks really dangerous in the DMR as well, and Bensalem has done
a great job of throwing together some amazing relays these past few years.
Without Francis and Rivera this team now has a new generation of youngers who
will look to step up and fill those large shoes.
Downingtown West dominated the DMR with a 10:57.14. This is
another team whose track development will be very interesting to watch after a
strong XC showing this year. I think they could dip as low as 10:40 this
winter.
TFCA of GP Meet #3 – Division II
We received a preview of part of Strath Haven’s 4x8 team
this weekend when Conan Beckley-Grey ran 2:03.40 to win the open 800 over
Patrick Dineen (2:04.49) of HGP. I’m excited to see more races from this Haven
squad. Again nothing much in the mile with Nicholas Sperger of Abington Friends
running 4:43.45 for the win by two seconds. And Dominic Digiacomo ran a solid
9:24 to dominate the 3k.
Without Digiacomo, Twin Valley ran a very strong 10:53.55 to
win the DMR over a potentially strong team in Bishop Shanahan who ran 11:10.08.
I’m excited to see TV running the DMR instead of the 4x8 hear and I hope they
do so later in the season to try and dip under the SQG of 10:49 and make it
into the state meet.

Jeff Kirshenbaum cut in too early... Started on the outside and cut in before the cones ended.
