We’ve got some big district results to discuss! Let’s start at the top
District 12 AAA
Cardinal O’Hara will not be going after the 4x8, as they only ran 8:05 with a clear B team. Individually they all won easily with Smart in the 800 (1:58.70), Belfatto in the 1600 (4:23.17), and James in the 3200 (9:19.45). With most runners on double duty at the state meet, these guys will have an even better chance at grabbing a top 3 medal.

District 11 AAA
I was surprised by D11’s 800 field was pretty strong with 6 runners going under 2. Khai Samuels took the crown in 1:57.76. Also to note sophomore Ryan Paradise of Emmaus ran double of 1:59.03 and 4:24.96.

Colin Abert had a nice double gold winning in 4:18.95 and 9:33.75. I’m not sure what he’ll choose for the state meet. He’s pretty ambitious, so he might do both, but I think he’ll just choose the 1600. Right behind him in both events was the sophomore Joseph Espinal of Wilson Area. He’s been doing great all year and he doubled a 4:24.91 and 9:39.50.

More to come tonight!

  1. Forrest you must up. Espinal did not run the 3200. Gabe Lamn from Whitehall got 2nd in the 3200 with a 9:39.50.
