Hey guys, I'm working on an updated team and individual's list right now along with a District 3 Preview. District 5 is also coming up on Wednesday of this week, but I'll be totally honest and say I know nothing about District 5, so I won't be making a preview for that meet.

District 11 AA Names to Know
Kyle Gonoude – 16:57
John Miller – 17:09
Team- Northwestern Lehigh. They dominated the field last season and return quite a few varsity members.

District 11 A Names to Know
Wesley Yutko of Minersville Area won this meet as just a sophomore last season leading his team to victory. They return 5 of their top 6 and should win this meet again.

District 2 Virtual Meet
Most District 2 teams haven’t raced a ton this year so it’s hard to tell where everyone is at, and it’s difficult to compare times, since last year, if you guys remember, it was a total mud bath at the District championships.

In ‘A’
Elk Lake returns 4 of their top 7 which includes two juniors and a sophomore. They should be able to handily repeat and make it back to the state meet. Dunmore’s Matt Murray placed 3rd last season as a freshman behind the top 2 finishers in the A state meet in Galassi and Jones, but he was beat earlier this year by junior Nate Morgan of Lakeland pretty handily @ the 19th Lackawanna County Invitational. Also look out for Elk Lake’s young guys, Cumens and Bedell to mix it up as well in the front pack. This is a very young district.

In AA
We have the pleasure of watching Dominic Deluca and Dominic Hockenbury battle once again enroute to the state championships. Deluca is undefeated and has been dominant all year. I don’t see much changing here, but I love to see how close Hockenbury can get. He’s one of the top sophomores in the state and a future star in PA distance running. I pegged Tunkhannock as a breakout team, but so far they’ve disappointed. Scranton Prep however has looked very strong all season and I would bet they’ll take home the title, although Dallas has run some very good races this season and they have the low stick in Deluca. Plus Kyle Perry hasn’t raced the past two meets (Top Scranton Prep guy from last season) so it could be a tight race. Also look for Jack Tidball and Kyle Feeney to have good races .
In AAA
Mike Brenkosh and Jacob Ross tied last season and are the top returners which should make for a fun race up front. Abington Heights returns their top 5 from last season, so I can’t imagine them having any issue claiming the team title and making it to Hershey.

Let me know your thoughts!

  1. Can't wait to see if Freedom pulls out a score that low, also if anyone tries to go after Abert.

    1. Freedom definitely can, but I don't think anyone from this district can stick with abert
