States Predictions ect.

Fantasy Draft is tonight at 9 PM, please let me know asap if you'd like to join, we've got 10 guys doing it so far!

In other news still looking for someone to possibly do Interview's at the state meet.

Lastly, here is the lists of top 5 teams and 25 individuals for each class. Lets get some more discussion generated on what could happen and how wrong I'm going to be!

1. Can anyone upset Tony Russell, Dominic Deluca, or Griffin Molino in the respective classes?
2. Henderson Vs. North Allegheny: Who will come out with the win?
3. What AA team will claim victory this season? Will it be one of the top 5 I listed or some other team entirely?
4. Posts your own top 25's or even the # of people you believe I will get correct from my top 25 lists. Frankly if I get 45 to 50/75 I'll be pretty excited about it.

  4. I had already posted this, but I'll put it in the official predictions section now. Forrest, I think you will get 35 of your individual predictions correct.

    1: Russell-15:35
    2: Wilson-15:45
    3: E. Martin-15:48
    4: Reilly-15:51
    5: Abert-15:52
    6: C. Martin-15:54
    7: Brophy-15:55
    8: Brehm-15:57
    9: Gebhart-15:59
    10: James-16:00

I think Russell will end up running this a lot like he ran at Districts, pulling away for the W in the last mile or so. Wilson has run well all year, and I think that culminates in a second place finish for him. The one pick I have that I could see going very wrong would be Brehm. He has run well on flat, fast courses, but has struggled on the tougher courses. That being said, the kid is a racer, and always steps up when it means the most.

    1. Can you give me your reasoning for Wilson beating Russell? I'm not going to judge your choice but you do know that Russell just beat Wilson on a flat course by 16 seconds. And Russell is better with hills. I just don't understand it. Id see russell possibly if it was Colin martin or if Abert ran smart and won. But I don't see how Wilson is in front of him.

      Delete
    2. Russell has to hang back to ensure the team win so he's susceptible to being outkicked.

      Delete
    3. Russell will not hang back. He'll run smart and conservative first. But he wants to get the individual and, more importantly, to get that 1 point for his team.

      Delete
    4. James for the win. He ran 15:12 back in mid September and he's in much better shape now destroying fields in championships.

      Delete
    5. James ran 15:12 on a short course. And he's still been running against nobody. Although the solo 15:45 was impressive for that course

      Delete
    6. But he's not gonna win.

    7. And nobody picked Tony to win last year either.

    10. That's because he's coach Kelly. What coach wouldn't pick his own team and top guy?

      Delete
    11. Tony Russell didn't win Manhattan and break 15 last year. No one really "stuck out" last year to be an overwhelming favorite. Obviously Russell isn't invincible but I'd be genuinely surprised if he lost.

  13. Here's my top 5:

    1. Will Cather

States will be the pinnacle of the so eagerly watched Cather-Brehm rivalry. I'm thinking Cather will edge Brehm out at the end since he has been holding back so much lately.

    2. Zach Brehm

This guy's definitely the most inconsistent runner I've ever seen, by far, so I have a hard time placing him. However, I think with his mortal enemy Cather at his side, he will be able to push through to a strong 2nd.

    3. Brent Kennedy

I am still holding on to my gut feeling that the injury rumors surrounding Brent Kennedy are fake. I bet he'll come flying off the line and catch everybody by surprise.

    4. Zach Wierzchowski

It's about time we see someone from District 8 place well at states. After his dominating performance at districts, I think he'll be able to stick right up there with the big guns. This kid just simply has everything one could want and more in a runner.

    5. Tony Russell

Let's face it, no one can actually win states 2 years in a row, right? Russell's definitely going to crack under the pressure, but I think he's still good enough for a solid 5th place finish.

There are definitely some crazy predictions out there, but I feel pretty confident with these. I put a lot of thought into them - as you can clearly see - so let me know what you think.

    1. I'm thinking Wierzchowski a little higher like maybe 2nd. Russell doesn't make top 5 and Wilson drops out. Jeff Groh takes 3rd and Kennedy is bumped back to 5th.

    2. This list is absurd. What does 'nobody can win states 2 years in a row" even mean. It's been done befor, just because conner Quinn didn't do it doesn't mean nobody can.
Also how could you just say the injury rumors are fake when a legit local news source posted it? And what about the 5 or so runners better than anyone you have on this list besides Russell?

    3. Im sure it was a joke so why don't you just chill out buddy

    4. Someone's pissed haha

    5. No way. I think legendary high-school runner Brad Miles will make his debut comeback appearance. He'll cruise into first at the mile with Russell and the chase pack on his heels. Through the second mile he'll start to pull away, and Colin Abert, Colin Martin, Russell, Wilson, and James will move up with him. Russel makes a move with about half-a-mile to go, and catches him by poop-out hill. Then Quinn Devlin will ride in on a dragon ready to take what's rightfully his after his senior year injuries. He will slay every runner in sight, before taking Don Rich hostage. WCE for the team win. I'm thinking they come on strong with a 5th man, and really get a good pack in there.

  16. Not surprisingly, I’m also picking WCH for the win. I’m sure NA is fired up to steal this thing as any underdog with a legit chance at a win would be. But unless WCH has a bad day, I don’t think this is going to be close enough to worry about a third straight tiebreaker. WCH started later and have been improving every week, I believe two or three of them will surpass most people projections. It wouldn’t be surprising to see 3 in the top 12 team scoring and 2 (or more) by 25. I know Forrest is high on NA and I admittedly don’t know a lot about them other than their strong performance at Foundation and WPIALS. They’re certainly no pushover, but I don’t think they have enough to pull it off this year. My team guess:

    WCH – 59
    NA – 84
    OH – 135
    CRN – 168
    Conestoga – 195

I worry a little about Conestoga since I don’t believe they’ve run this course before and it can take its toll on first time teams/runners.

Individually - It’s always a battle, at least through coming back over the bridge. There are probably 10 names that wouldn’t be a shock if they won it. However, even with the target on his back, it’s tough to go against Russell after his performances so far this year. My guess:

    Russell
    Ebert
    Wilson
    C Martin
    C Cazanjian

No one will have a chance at him as long as he shotguns his usual 24 pack of coors and downs a bottle of vladdy at the mile. All of these other sissy girls up front start puking after a six pack of Mikes Hard. Brehm gets more ass from these thirsty cross country hoes in one day than russel ebert and wilson have ever gotten. After Zach won the Carlisle invite, they tried to submit the race video to pornhub but they dont accept rape. He will be harder to beat than a soft dick
